What is the MIT Sloan CIO Symposium?
The MIT Sloan CIO Symposium is the nation's premier CIO event bringing together information technology executives from around the world and leading faculty from MIT. The annual event offers a day of interactive learning and thought-provoking discourse on the future of technology, best practices, and business that is not available anywhere else. It includes presentations, panels, networking and a closing reception.
The MIT Sloan CIO Symposium is designed by the organizing team from the MIT Sloan Boston Alumni Association, the MIT Initiative on the Digital Economy, and the MIT Sloan Center for Information Systems Research.
Using knowledge from personal experience and the expertise of the academicians at MIT Sloan School of Management, conference organizers have access to vital information and a network of expert business leaders to draw from, which allows them to foster thought-provoking discussions and facilitate peer networking for their fellow executives.
The Symposium is part of the CXO Series produced by MIT Sloan Boston, along with MIT Sloan, including the MIT Sloan CFO Summit.

What differentiates the MIT Sloan CIO Symposium?
We are focused on the needs of the CIO and making the latest MIT research accessible to a broad audience.
Each year, the volunteers who plan the Symposium have two primary goals in mind. The first is to provide leading-edge content that addresses the changing role of the CIO. For example, this year's theme will focus on the digital enterprise, and the role of the CIO in leading this technical and cultural transformation.
Keynote presentations and panels all cover different aspects of the topic, based on the insights of MIT experts, and firsthand experience of respected executives who are already shaping the current and future CIO role.
The second goal is to help participants minimize time away by providing practical education and peer networking in a convenient, one-day format.
